HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Programme

Description – In order to combat the prevalence and spread of the HIV//AIDS infection, several initiatives have been implemented related to Prevention, Treatment and Care, Advocacy, surveillance and research of AIDS to facilitate the continued operations of the National AIDS Coordinating Committee.

The Project has resulted in improved access to medication, treatment and care for persons with HIV/AIDS infections. Rehabilitation of health facilities including the National Blood Transfusion Service, the Public Health Laboratory and the Queen’s Park Counseling Clinic and Centre have also be undertaken.
